IOT4Win Final Workshop and Public Engagement Event

The final main conference and dissemination event was held in hybrid mode at Birmingham City University Birmingham, UK, on 26 May 2022. This last event invited experts from water industries – United Utilities Plc Digital Services as stakeholders and invited key technology providers related to IOT4win smart solutions from AVK and ATI UK. Professors and researchers from the UK and from the University of Thessaly, Water Europe, give talks about the water Europe initiative and trend with a Horizon Europe project-ARSINOE. This event also combines with the Engineering Innovation Fest 2022 at BCU to further the public engagement for STEAM to understand the hot topics related to smart water under climate changes and the Net Zero issue. This event brought research and academic perspectives, industrial experiences, and technology solutions in Water, IOT and smart devices and sensing technology to further promote understanding of smart water development challenges under climate changes and emerging technology. IOT4win research outcomes will further connect with various industries and potential applications, promote smart water research and enhance their student and researcher career prospects for further collaboration.

3rd Workshop for IoT4Win

The third workshop for the IoT4Win project was held online via the Teams software. The project partners attended the workshop from the industrial United Utilities (UK) and Singlor Logic (Greece). In addition to the project representative Birmingham City University (BCU), UK. Four invited talkers gave presentations on Innovation Competition at United Utilities, Smart Technologies in Water System, AI-Based Analytics for Energy Management in Wate System, and Smart Farming Technologies. Moreover, the three ESRs presented their projects and the outputs achieved for each project.

2nd Workshop for IoT4Win

European research project to use smart technology to tackle global water issues

A new £ 660 million European project will see smart technologies and state-of-the-art sensors used to help tackle global water challenges and create a new generation of researchers.

Birmingham City University and Greek technology firm Singular Logic have been handed €761,644 (£ 665,966) by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks scheme. New job opportunities of Early Stage Researchers for IoT4Win project

The research project IoT4Win Grant Agreement focuses on advanced sensors and IoT technology for water and environment monitoring and control.IoT4Win will exploit the synergies between smart sensor, ICT; intelligent data processing; water distribution system knowledge and social sciences through multilateral relationships between academia; technology providers and water suppliers in the public and private sector.
