Iot4Win

Project Training

IOT4Win project first training workshop was held in ACING at Madrid Spain on 10 -11 June 2019. Three recruited ESRs  gave the presentations of  their individual projects  related to each Work Package in IOT4Win. Staff from BCU and our industrial partners with ESRs discussed related research issues on heterogenous device connectivity in IoT environment and interoperability framework, security in cyber physical system for smart water system.
The second workshop of the IoT4Win project was held online via the Teams software. The workshop was attended by the project partners from the industrial United Utilities UK, and also Singlor Logic Athens, Greece. In addition to the project representative Birmingham City University (BCU), UK.
3rd Workshop for IoT4Win The third workshop for the IoT4Win project was held online via the Teams software. The project partners attended the workshop from the industrial United Utilities (UK) and Singlor Logic (Greece). In addition to the project representative Birmingham City University (BCU), UK. Four invited talkers gave presentations on Innovation Competition at United Utilities, Smart Technologies in Water System, AI-Based Analytics for Energy Management in Wate System, and Smart Farming Technologies. Moreover, the three ESRs presented their projects and the outputs achieved for each project.
The final main conference and dissemination event was held in hybrid mode at Birmingham City University Birmingham, UK, on 26 May 2022. This last event invited experts from water industries – United Utilities Plc Digital Services as stakeholders and invited key technology providers related to IOT4win smart solutions from AVK and ATI UK. Professors and researchers from the UK and from the University of Thessaly, Water Europe, give talks about the water Europe initiative and trend with a Horizon Europe project-ARSINOE. This event also combines with the Engineering Innovation Fest 2022 at BCU to further the public engagement for STEAM to understand the hot topics related to smart water under climate changes and the Net Zero issue. This event brought research and academic perspectives, industrial experiences, and technology solutions in Water, IOT and smart devices and sensing technology to further promote understanding of smart water development challenges under climate changes and emerging technology. IOT4win research outcomes will further connect with various industries and potential applications, promote smart water research and enhance their student and researcher career prospects for further collaboration.
